Dental Insurance

At Gateway Dental, we work with most dental insurance plans. We also accept Medicaid, and we're happy to discuss the services that Medicaid covers for you if you have questions.

Standard dental plans cover most if not all of your preventative services and a percentage of restorative dentistry. Some plans even offer an orthodontic benefit that pays a percentage of orthodontic treatments – including Invisalign. If you are unsure what your plan covers or you have other questions about your dental benefits, please contact our office to speak with one of our knowledgeable staff members.

While dental insurance covers a portion of treatment, there is typically an out-of-pocket expense if you need restorative services. Be sure to ask us about our payment plans if you're interested in arranging affordable monthly payments.

Frequently Asked Questions

We understand that cost is a concern for many patients, and at Gateway Dental, we strive to bring you high quality dentistry at a competitive price. We accept Medicaid and most types of dental insurance, which can help defray the cost of treatment for our patients. We also work with companies such as CareCredit, which help break the cost of treatment into monthly payments that fit comfortably into your budget.

Sometimes larger treatment plans can be broken into phases where procedures get completed a few at a time based on urgency. This can also help patients fit their dental care into their monthly budgets and plan ahead for the future. If you are striving to get your oral health back on track, we’re happy to work with you.

Just like you, we don’t like financial surprises at Gateway Dental, so you can rest assured that we’ll never move forward with any type of procedure until you have a clear understanding of what needs to be done and how much out-of-pocket cost there will be for you.

If you have any questions about your treatment plan, your insurance coverage, or your payment options, we encourage you to contact our office today.

The typical recommendation is that most patients see the dentist at least twice per year for cleanings and checkups or every six months. This is a good rule of thumb because these regular visits allow your dentist to monitor your oral health with x-rays and examinations and detect any concerns in their earliest stages. It also allows your hygienist to remove the excess plaque buildup during your cleaning that causes issues like tooth decay, cavities, and gum disease.

Patients who struggle with gum disease may need additional cleanings throughout the year to help manage their condition. Managing your periodontal health is extremely important since we know gum disease is linked with other health concerns in the body such as heart disease, diabetes, and high blood pressure. It is also the leading cause of tooth loss in American adults.

Unfortunately, there is no cure for gum disease, but with the help of your dental team, you can usually successfully control your condition.

Dr. Fruithandler assesses the oral health of all new patients during their initial examination, and he’ll recommend the proper cleaning and checkup schedule for your unique needs.

Patient comfort is a top priority at Gateway Dental! We make every effort to ensure your experience at our office is pleasant by providing you with state-of-the-art technology and an attentive staff. Dr. Fruithandler also uses the best dental anesthetics to ensure that you don’t feel a thing during procedures.

Digital dentistry, such as x-rays and our intraoral camera, allows us to accurately diagnose our patients’ needs in a timely manner so many patients are able to avoid costly procedures and painful predicaments like a dental infection.

Patients who feel anxious about dental procedures can discuss their concerns with Dr. Fruithandler to determine if nitrous oxide (laughing gas) might help them feel more at ease. Laughing gas can be used to help patients relax during many types of procedures and it’s even safe for children. Because laughing gas leaves your system quickly, it’s safe for you to drive home and participate in normal activities after your procedure.

And of course, if there’s anything we can do to make your procedure more comfortable, just let one of our friendly team members know. We hope that we will be your dental home for many years to come.
